R22 Versus R410a Refrigerant

As most consumers are already aware, an alternate refrigerant has emerged in the air conditioning industry. This alternative refrigerant for the most part is R410A. EN Blue carries central air conditioning units with either R22 or R410A our major brand. The premium for R410A units is approximately $ 1000 more than their R22 counterparts.

• Currently, R410a costs approximately 5 times as much as R22 per pound.
• New central air units are permitted to be produced with R22 until 2010 and R22 is available to replace in these units until 2020.
